Is Ortho Woth The Investment?

(YES!)Orthodontic treatment is an outstanding investment in the overall health and psychological well-being of children and adults.   Without treatment orthodontic problems can lead to tooth decay, gum disease, bone destruction, tooth loss, chewing and digestive difficulties as well as speech impairment.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. Modern traditional braces are smaller and more comfortable than they used to be. With options to pick your own elastic colors, traditional braces are an excellent choice for correcting your smile.  By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

At Caring Family Dentistry you have the benefit of one location that is open Monday through Friday.    There are no "hidden" fees when you begin treatment in our office. We will work with you to set up a payment plan that fits within your budget. We also accept assignment from all insurance plans and we will file the necessary paperwork with your insurance company for you. With your assistance, we can make orthodontic treatment affordable to anyone who desires treatment. For your convenience, we will accept payment with most major credit cards.

Common Questions

How much does it cost?

As with all orthodontic treatment it all depends on the complexity of treatment and time involved.  By setting up a free consultation with Dr. Paul we can give you an estimate on the fee and options for your orthodontic needs.

How long will I need to wear braces, and how often do I have appointments?

It all depends on the case but typical braces cases last from one to three years depending on the needs of tooth movement.  Appointment intervals are usually every 4-8 weeks.

How do I schedule my next appointment?

Simply call our practice! Our front desk staff will be happy to help schedule your next appointment at your convenience. If you are a new patient or have been referred to our practice, please let us know and we will provide you with all of the information you need.

Braces Appointments

You may always call our office to set up a free appointment to see if you or your child are a candidate for braces.  Take a smile assessment to see what types of cases can be treated with the custom braces that Dr. Paul uses for each patient.

Discussion

At this appointment Dr. Paul will sit down to discuss the findings of the previous records appointment.  An overview including timeline, costs, possible complications, and any post orthodontic needs will be covered. All financial arrangements and payment plans will be discussed prior to treatment start.

Records

If braces will work for you then orthodontic records will be taken where x-rays, pictures, impressions, and an exam will be completed.  The cost for this appointment is $200 (non refundable) and will go towards your orthodontic fee if you decide to accept treatment.

Band Sizing

Elastic spacers will be placed in between the molar teeth.  These spacers will be worn for one week to make space in between the molar teeth.  After a week they are removed and the molar teeth are sized so that we can order custom bands, wires, and brackets.   Approximately two weeks later braces will be placed.

Braces Placement

Dr. Paul and his staff place the brackets, bands, and initial wires to help straighten the teeth out.  Instructions are given on how to properly clean teeth, eat with braces, and answer any questions that you may have.
