Invisalign® straightens your teeth using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. They gradually and gently shift your teeth into place. There are no metal brackets to attach to your teeth and no wires to tighten. With Invisalign just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference to your daily life.

Invisalign has treated over 4,000,000 cases and has millions of dollars of research to make sure that the best materials and methods are used to treat your teeth in the most efficient and safest way possible.  Dr. Paul has been using Invisalign since 2005 and is a Preferred Provider.  Dr. Paul has treated cases from simple to complex, and from ages 13-76 years old.  Please call our office at (231) 796-8770 to set up a free consultation to see if Invisalign is the right choice to finally get the smile you have always dreamed of.

Common Questions on Invisalign:

How much does it cost?

The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's orthodontic problems, and all fees and payment options will be discussed before treatment begins. There are no "hidden" fees when you begin treatment in our office. We will work with you to set up a payment plan that fits within your budget. We also accept assignment from all insurance plans and we will file the necessary paperwork with your insurance company for you.

What ages can you use Invisalign on?

You can start Invisalign on teens as soon as all permanent teeth erupt. There is no age limit on Invisalign and most patients we treat are in there 50's, 60's, and 70's.

What happens if we lose a tray?

Extra trays can be fabricated at no additional charge.

How often do I need to come in for appointments?

Invisalign appointments are usually very short to check the tracking of the teeth.  Appointments intervals are usually 6-12 weeks depending on the case.

Can I use Invisalign if I travel or leave for several months at a time?

With Invisalign Dr. Paul can coordinate the appointments so that office visits are minimal.  We have had patients from Chicago, Ann Arbor, Rockford and several other surrounding cities.  College kids and snow birds are still candidates for Invisalign.

Are there additional charges to the orthodontic fee?

All orthodontic visits are covered, lost aligners are covered, orthodontic x-rays are covered, bleaching trays are free at the end of treatment, a retainer for the top and bottom teeth is covered at the end of treatment.

Are results as good as braces?

Yes they certainly are!  The most important thing with Invisalign is that you wear the tray for the minimum 22 hours per day.  Certain cases can't be treated by Invisalign and Dr. Paul will advise you on other options.

What happens at the end of treatment?

When your smile transformation is complete you will receive free bleaching trays, and a retainer to maintain your beautiful smile.

Invisalign Appointments

You may always call our office to set up a free appointment to see if you are a candidate for Invisalign.  A smile assessment is also available at the Invisalign website to see the results Invisalign can achieve.

Records

If Invisalign will work for you then orthodontic records will be taken where x-rays, pictures, impressions, and an exam will be completed.  The cost for this appointment is $200 (non refundable) and will go towards your orthodontic fee if you decide to accept treatment.

Discussion

At this appointment Dr. Paul will sit down to discuss the findings of the previous records appointment.  An overview including timeline, costs, possible complications, and any post orthodontic needs will be covered.  A final view of the teeth using CadCam technology will be used to show how the teeth will move and end up at the completion of treatment.  Once a deposit is made the Invisalign lab fabricates all the aligners at once.

Invisalign Start

Dr. Paul and his staff deliver the first two trays and go over instructions on how to place, remove, wear, and clean your aligners.
